Batavia throttled Boylan 38-6.
Boylan loses so rarely at home in Rockford that none of their players had ever lost a varsity game on their home turf. But the Titans seemed to be overmatched in their semi-final game. They struggled to move the ball on offense, and quarterback Demry Croft threw two interceptions, including one that was returned for a touchdown toward the end of the first half.
The Boylan defense limited big plays, but the ones they did allow hurt them. They gave up a long touchdown throw at the beginning of the third quarter from Micah Coffey to Michael Moffat, and then another from Coffey to Jordan Zwart in the fourth quarter. Bulldogs running back Anthony Scaccia finished with 41 carries for 185 yards and was a key component in Batavia dominating the play clock.
