The Bears forced three first half turnovers against the Carolina Panthers, including a 51-yard interception return for a touchdown by rookie linebacker Jon Bostic. Bostic was starting in place of the injured DJ Williams, but made a good impression. Along with his interception, he had two tackles, including one for a loss.
Things weren't as good for the offense. Jay Cutler's first passing attempt under Trestman was intercepted. Alshon Jeffery was playing in Brandon Marshall's spot, who was given the night off. Jeffery and Cutler clearly were off touch on the route, and Josh Norman made the play.
The Bears lost by a score of 24-17. Third string quarterback Tyler Blanchard played for most of the second half.
