Dofflemyer Reaches Championship Match

BLOOMINGTON-Hui Chong Dofflemyer is in a good groove right now. It's showing at the Women's State Amateur Golf Tournament. Dofflemyer is undefeated through four matches over the past two days.

Thursday she won her quarterfinal match over Mo Sheehan of Grayslake 4 and 2. In the semifinal match following that she edged Dana Gattone of Addison 2 and 1.

So Friday at 9 a.m. she'll tee it up again at the Crestwicke Country Club. Her championship match opponent will be Alexandra Harkins of Crystal Lake. Harkins is still a teenager. She finished tenth at State last fall in the IHSA Girls State Tournament.

The last Stateline golfer to win the Women's State Amateur was Rockton's Brittany Atterbury in 2010.
