Blackhawks take Game 1 against Kings 2-1.

The Chicago Blackhawks played their game, using a dangerous offense to pepper Los Angeles goalie Jonathan Quick. But they also were physical, using numerous shell shocking blows to match the Kings' aggressiveness, giving themselves a chance to hang with the defending Stanley Cup champs.

All of that led to the Blackhawks taking a 1-0 advantage in the Western Conference finals. After falling behind in the first period despite an overwhelming advantage in shots on goal, the Blackhawks used two second period goals to pull ahead for good. Patrick Sharp finished in front for the first goal, then Marian Hossa deflected Duncan Keith's shot to put Chicago ahead to stay.

The 'Hawks got off 36 shots against Quick, while Corey Crawford only faced 22.

There is a quick turnaround in the series: Game 2 is Sunday night at 8.
