If you closed your eyes and listened to the highlights, it might sound like a Rockford IceHogs game of old. Instead, it was an NHL thrashing on the brightest of stages.
The Chicago Blackhawks got three goals from former IceHogs, and another former IceHogs Corey Crawford was solid in the net, as the Hawks coasted to a win and a 2-0 series lead.
The Blackhawks once again got to Jonathan Quick and this time he was benched in the second period after letting up his fourth goal of the game. Andrew Shaw put the Hawks on the board in the first period and then Brent Seabrook got a beautiful slapshot by Quick at the end of the first.
By the time Bryan Bickell put in a rebound in the middle of the second period, the game was essentially finished. The Hawks dominated most of the game, despite letting Crawford face 31 shots during the contest.
Game 3 will be Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
