The Blackhawks had a busy night with the NHL Draft, but they also made several moves with their active roster.
The Blackhawks first traded Dave Bolland to the Toronto Maple Leafs for the 51st and 117th overall picks in this year's draft. They also received a 4th round selection in the 2014 draft.
Chicago later traded Michael Frolik to the Winnipeg Jets for 74th and 134th overall selections.
Trading Bolland and Frolik cleared up a combined $6 million in salary for the 2013-14 season.
Getting rid of that salary allowed the team to re-sign forward Bryan Bickell. Bickell, who was due to become an unrestricted free agent, signed for four years at $4 million per season. He was instrumental in the team's playoff success, scoring a team-high nine goals and eight assists in the postseason.
