RVC Teams Reach Final Four

ROCKFORD-Both the men's and women's basketball teams from Rock Valley College remain in the hunt for National Championships. They both reached the final four Thursday in their respective tournaments.

The women defeated Massasoit of Massachusetts 81-62 in an NJCAA D-3 quarterfinal game in Rochester, Minnesota. Dakota graduate Aleesha Cleaver led RVC with 23 points.

The men defeated Nassau College of New York in New York 83-72. Boylan graduate Frank Cimino lit it up with 26 points. Jefferson graduate L.T. Davis added 13 ponts. The Golden Eagles roared out to a 48-30 halftime lead.

This marks the first time in school history that the RVC men have reached the semifinals. The women are shooting for their third straight national championship.

Both teams will take the court for semifinal action on Friday.
