Croft Picks Kill and Gophers

ROCKFORD-The Stateline will have another football player in the Big Ten in another year. Boylan quarterback Demry Croft tweeted late Monday night that he is committing to Jerry Kill and the University of Minnesota.

In his tweet Croft said "I have decided to further my education at the University of Minnesota. Thank you to everyone who supported me. Love you all!"

Croft recently attended a camp at Minnesota.

Croft passed for 1879 yards as a junior last season at Boylan, a school record. He also rushed for almost 700 yards. He passed for 16 touchdowns and he ran for 12 more. Boylan reached the Class 6A State Semifinals.

Minnesota has been on the rise under Kill, the former NIU coach. Last season the Gophers were 8-5, 4-4 in the Big Ten including wins over Northwestern, Nebraska and Penn State. They lost to Syracuse in the Texas Bowl.
