CHICAGO-The Bulls need help putting the ball in the basket. They got some Thursday night during the NBA draft. They packaged their two first round picks (#16, #19) and sent them to the Nuggets for the 11th pick overall. With that they selected Creighton forward Doug McDermott.

McDermott led the nation in scoring last year at 26.7 points per game. He has unlimited shooting range. He made 45.8% of his three point attempts in his three year college career. As a senior he was the National Player Of The Year in college basketball. He averaged seven rebounds, and he also made 86.4% of his free throws.

He is the fifth leading scorer in NBA history with 3,150 points. His father Greg is the head coach at Creighton.
