Byron Hires Boyer

Byron, Illinois-The quarterback who led Byron High School's football team to a State Championship in 1999 is now the school's head varsity football coach.  Jeff Boyer has the job.  He was approved by the Board of Education Thursday night.

Boyer has been an assistant football coach at Byron the past four years. 

He attended Augustana College in Rock Island where he played both football and baseball.  He has been a math teacher at Byron since 2008.
