DEKALB - Harlem's quest for another state championship continues to be an entertaining one. This week in the Kaneland Sectional at Mardi Gras Lanes in DeKalb senior Treasure Childs stole the show.
Childs set the tone early for the Huskies bowling a perfect game, and eventually winning the individual title with a score of 1377. Harlem won the sectional championship by 498 pins with a total score of 6497.
The other three teams heading to the State Tournament are Sycamore (5999), Freeport (5976), and Guilford (5820).
Five local bowlers are advancing as individuals. Belvidere North's Brynn Lambrect, Auburn's Catilyn Bannister, East's Tegan Peterson, Rochelle's Katie Dummer, and Belvidere's Holley Steelberg will all compete at state.
The State Tournament will take place at The Cherry Bowl February 16-17, 2018.
