That's what his championship on The Ultimate Fighter reality TV show on Fox Sports 1 has done for him. Anderson pummeled Matt Van Buren in a first round TKO this past Sunday night in Las Vegas. The victory earned him a six figure, three-year contract with UFC for more fights.
It also made him a huge celebrity in his hometown he told Eyewitness News Tuesday in Rockton.
"Last night I went out with my friends and was hanging out," says Anderson. "Wherever we went, the gas station, people were like jumping out of their car to hang out and take pictures. I was like, 'Why are you acting like this. I'm still just Corey Anderson. I've been here my whole life. I mean you don't realize the big impact that you made on this city."
So how good does Anderson think he can be?
"I think I can be one of the best. I know I can be one of the best. It's just the mindset that I have."
Anderson isn't sure when his next fight will be, but he hopes it'll be sometime this year.
