David Brown Award Finalist

Kalamazoo, MI--Hononegah grad David Brown has made a huge impact this basketball season as a Western Michigan Bronco. That impact was recognized as Brown was named to the list of thirty finalists for the 2014 Lou Henson Award.

Brown led Western Michigan to a 23-10 record and a conference championship. He leads the MAC in scoring, averaging 19.1 points per game. His 631 total points this season ranks third in program history. Brown was also named MAC tournament MVP and named to the 2013-14 All-American team.

The award is present annually to the top mid-major player in Division I basketball. It’s named in honor of Lou Henson who retired after forty-one years of coaching. Brown is one of thirty candidates and the winner of the award will be announced April 4th in Dallas.
