Over his last seven games he has a 1.80 goals against average.
"Obviously things are going well right now, so you're a little more confident," said Hutton. "At the same time I feel like I've been pretty confident since I've been up here. I thought I've played some pretty good hockey. I think the biggest thing is getting the team getting used to winning, and getting this streak here. Hopefully we can continue to do that."
"Carter's been unbelievable," said head coach Ted Dent. "His numbers are great over the new year. He's been great for our hockey team. He works hard as you can see. He's a good teammate. The players like him. He's come a long way."
Things are also looking up for another IceHogs' goalie Andrew Salak. He has begun practicing with the team again. Salak hasn't played since December 2nd due to a lower body injury.
"It's great to be back on the ice with the guys. It's a lot of fun," said Salak to WTVO. "I feel like I'm pretty close (to returning) now."
When asked if we could expect him on the ice after the All-Star break Salak said, "Yea, I can tell because this injury has been really, really annoying to me. It's kind of a slow process. I thought it might be a factor, but we don't want to push anything further, so we'll see."
