Javier Herrera was once a highly touted baseball prospect. He was signed as a 16 year old by the Oakland Athletics and chosen to the Major League Baseball Futures Game as a 20 year old in 2005. Herrera was once considered a potential star.
Injuries and inconsistency have derailed his baseball dreams, and when Herrera signed with the Rockford RiverHawks last offseason, he knew it might be his last chance.
Herrera, recently named a Frontier League All-Star, has made the most of his opportunity.
