Lowry Enjoying The Winning Side Of Bears-Packers Rivalry

Dean Lowry is 4-0 against the Chicago Bears early in his career.

CHICAGO - Rockford native Dean Lowry grew up watching the Bears and Packers battle on tv. Now the former Boylan Titan spends two Sundays a year right in the trenches of this long, historic rivalry.

The rivalry has been pretty one-sided since Lowry's arrival to Green Bay. The Packers have won all four match-ups the past two years. The Packers really needed Sunday's 23-16 win after three straight losses.

"It was a big win for us," says Lowry. "I think after Monday night's loss it definitely a good opportunity for us to get a win here in Soldier Field. So I think playing our rival was an added element in this game. I think that we're excited, and I think momentum is back on our side and we're going to keep going with it."

Despite the Packers recent domination Lowry has a new found respect for the rivalry, and playing in Chicago as an Illinois native.

"It's definitely special. Being an Illinois kid, growing up in Rockford, and playing here at Soldier Field I think I have a great respect for the rivalry here between the Bears and Packers. So I think to be a part of this game is really special. I think to get the win is even more cool."

With the win Green Bay is 5-4 on the season and in second place of the NFC North division.
