ROCKFORD-Rock Valley College’s Marquiesha Grant signed a National Letter of Intent Wednesday to continue her academic pursuits and basketball career at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, an NCAA Division I university that participates in the Horizon League.

Grant, a 5’8 sophomore guard from John Marshall High School in Chicago, led the Golden Eagles in scoring (18.3 points per game), assists (4.8 apg), and steals (2.6 spg) this past season while helping lead RVC to the NJCAA championship game for a third straight season. She was a first-team NJCAA All-American selection and was also named Player of the Year for both the conference (N4C) and the region (NJCAA Division III, Region IV).

In her two year career at RVC, Grant scored 1,039 points and won a national championship as a freshman in 2013, the second of back-to-back NJCAA championships for the Golden Eagles.

Grant made her signing official on Wednesday afternoon in a brief ceremony held on the RVC campus among teammates, family, and friends.
