Bears Beat Steelers

- It wasn't pretty, but at the end of the day, it was another win.

The Chicago Bears jumped out to a 24-3 lead courtesy of their always aggressive defense, and were able to hang on for the victory despite a late resurgence from Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers.

Jay Cutler finished 20 for 30 with 159 yards and a touchdown (no interceptions) and Matt Forte was effective, running for 87 yards and a score. But the defense was the Bears' biggest weapon - their defense forced six turnovers leading to 23 points, and that was the difference in the game.

The Bears win might have come at a high cost. Cornerback Charles Tillman entered the game banged up and didn't play toward the end of the contest, although he was seen walking around on the sideline. More of a concern is defensive tackle Henry Melton. Melton went down holding his knee in the fourth quarter and had to leave on a cart. His status had not been announced immediately after the game.

The Bears hit the road again next week, visting the division rival Detroit Lions.
