Bears Reach Out To Stateline Family

Rockford, Illinois-A lot of Bears fans enjoyed the Bears' win over the Bengals Sunday. But perhaps no one enjoyed the day more than one Rockford man did.

Jeff Hallberg has pancreatic cancer, and he doesn't have much time left. His wish was to attend a Bears' game. Sunday he and his family did thanks to the Bears. And they were given the red carpet treatment.

Team chairman George McCaskey and his wife Barb greeted the Hallbergs when they arrived at Soldier Field. Then the McCaskeys spent time with the Hallberg's on the sideline while the Bears went through pre-game warmups.

The Bears also presented the Hallberg's with hats. The Bears' kindness touched the Hallberg's hearts.

"It was George McCaskey and Barb McCaskey. They met us at the gate, and I remember Grorge saying to Jeff it was an honor to meet him, and he shook his hand. It was so cool," says Hallberg's wife Sarah.

"George pushed Jeff into the stadium, and we got right up to the sideline. We were right there. Those Bears are big! Just having that view of our family with them in the background is again a memory to always remember. And then we were seated. Perfect seats at the endzone. And Jeff did really good. He enjoyed the game. They (the Bears) were awesome!"

The Bears also gave the Hallbergs 100 Bears' Bucks to spend at the team gift shop.
