The NIU Huskies started a new tradition, and it involved two of the football team's favorite things: bragging rights, and lots of food.
The players were divided into two teams, selected by coach Kevin Kane and coach Joe Tripodi, and competed in a scrimmage style event where the winner would be taken to a steak dinner. Turnovers were the story early, as the game began on three straight interceptions on deflected passes. Eventually everyone found a groove, as both the offense and defense showed flashes of top notch talent.
