Despite losing over 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns from last season's wide receiving corps, the Northern Illinois Huskies claim they are confident in this year's group. Returning from last year's historic season are TommyLee Lewis (539 yards, 5 touchdowns) and Da'Ron Brown (156 yards, 2 touchdowns). They've been working with quarterback Jordan Lynch outside of practice to get extra reps.
When asked about last year's special pass catching players, head coach Rod Carey attributed a lot of credit to the seniors that worked hard and created success for themselves.
"They have the talent to be, individually and as a group. I'm excited to see what they've got this season," Carey said.
When asked if this year's group can be as good as last year's, Brown smiled and said, "I think we can be better."
