Potthoff Back At South Beloit 2/27/13

South Beloit, Illinois-The man who coached South Beloit to its only state championship in football in 2002 is returning to the school. Drew Potthof has been hired as the interim athletic director for the remainder of this school year. He replaces J.P. Gray. Gray has resigned to take a job in Nashville, Tennessee.

Since leaving South Beloit several years ago Potthoff has been the athletic director at McHenry High School and then at Faith Lutheran High School in Crystal Lake.

He told WTVO that it's great to be back where he had so many good times.

Potthoff says we'll see if the interim AD job turns into a pernament job at South Beloit. And even though he hasn't coached in years there's always that inkling in the back of his mind that he might one day like to give it another shot. But he says if that happens he'll more likely return as an assistant coach rather than a head coach.
