Rockford - The East E-Rabs took a major step toward winning the NIC-10 championship Wednesday by defeating Hononegah 6-0.
Both teams entered the game with one conference loss, but East ace pitcher Preston Bagley made sure that the E-Rabs had control of the game almost from start to finish. Bagley went the distance for a shutout. He struck out seven batters.
Justin Cruz and Casey Kiefler each had two-run singles for East.
The E-Rabs improve to 18-3 overall and 14-1 in the conference. Hononegah is now 20-8 and 14-2.
