LOVES PARK-There were signs of life Monday at Aviators Stadium. The coaching staff held an open tryout hoping to discover some untapped talent. 21 players from around the Midwest were put through a 60 yard dash, throwing drills, pitching drills and hitting. So what are the odds of finding someone who might actually make the team this season?

"You never know," says Aviators coach Patrick Sullivan. "We've got a lot of talent in the area and in the Chicago area, so you just want to give the guys a chance to come out and show what they can do."

What are the nerves for the players as they try to impress the coaches?

"It's not too bad, said outfielder Dusty Kerns. "I just go out there and try to do the best that I can and see what happens."

The Aviators will open training camp May 1st.
