Hawks Eliminate Blues

Chicago, Ill.- The Blackhawks won the first round series 4-2 and eliminated the St. Louis Blues from the playoffs Sunday afternoon. The Hawks beat the Blues 5-1. Bryan Bickell scored the first goal of the game but the Blues’ T.J. Oshie scored later in the period to tie the game 1-1.

The Blackhawks exploded offensively in the third period. Jonathan Toews, Patrick Sharp and Andrew Shaw scored in the first eight minutes of the period. Toews scored his third game-winning goal of the series. Duncan Keith scored his first goal of the series late in the third to put the Blackhawks up 5-1. Keith also had three assists and Corey Crawford made 35 saves for Chicago.

Chicago won four in a row after losing the first two games in St. Louis. The Blackhawks will move on to play the winner of the Minnesota Wild and Colorado Avalanche series. The Avalanche lead 3-2 and will play Game 6 in Minnesota Monday night.
