Hawks Tame Wild

Chicago- The Blackhawks beat the Minnesota Wild Sunday in Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals. The Hawks lead the series 2-0. Jonathan Toews was the first to score Sunday. Wild goalie Ilya Bryzgalov stopped Marian Hossa on a breakaway in the first and Toews scored on the rebound. In the second period, Brandon Saad scored on an assist from Brent Seabrook and Bryan Bickell. The Hawks led 2-0 heading in the third period but Cody McCormick slipped one past Cory Crawford for his second career playoff goal. After McCormick cut the lead in half, the Blackhawks prevailed. With 2:45 to go, Bickell scored off a two-on-one with Hossa to give Chicago a 3-1 cushion. Then to top it off, Saad scored on an empty net with 1:23 to go for his second goal of the game. The Blackhawks won 4-1 and earned their sixth consecutive win. Corey Crawford made 18 saves.

Game 3 is Tuesday night in Minnesota at 8 p.m.
