Hawks Lose Game 7 in OT

Chicago- The Blackhawks put up a great fight in the Western Conference Finals but fell short in Game 7 Sunday night. In the first period, Patrick Kane passed behind the net to Brandon Saad for the first goal of the game. The Blackhawks scored later in the first on a power play when Brent Seabrook's shot took a lucky bounce and Jonathan Toews was there to put it in. Kings' Jeff Carter scored in the first period to put the Kings within one and Justin Williams netted one shortly after to tie the game at two. Williams is tied for most goals and most points in Game 7's.

Tyler Toffoli scored the Kings' only second period goal to tie the game at three. Patrick Sharp retaliated on the power play with his second goal of the night and his fifth playoff goal to give the Hawks a 4-3 lead heading into the third period.

Midway through the third period, Marian Gaborik had the tying goal for the Kings. The Hawks and Kings were tied 4-4 at the end of regulation.

Alec Martinez scored at 5:47 of overtime when his shot went off Blackhawks defenseman Nick Leddy and slipped by Corey Crawford. The Kings won 5-4 and won the Western Conference Final Series 4-3. Jonathan Quick made 37 saves for Los Angeles.

The Kings will face the New York Rangers in the Stanley Cup Finals.
