Morin NHL Ready

ROCKFORD-If there’s one IceHog who’s NHL ready that guy is Jeremy Morin. He’s coming off one of the best month’s any IceHog has ever had.  If he keeps this up, the Blackhawks can’t help but find a spot for him at some point.

His speed, and his scoring all say Morin is NHL ready.   So do his teammates.

"Personally I think he’s an NHL player playing in the league right now just his competitiveness and his desire right now is the biggest difference I’ve seen from the first couple years," says IceHogs defenseman Brian Connelly.

Morin recently had a 13 game point stretch, the longest in the league this season. During those 13 games he had 11 goals and nine assists.

"Im playing the way I want to play right now. I think I’m producing offensively and we’re winning right now," says Morin. "It's a lot of fun. I just want to not change a thing and continue to grow my game and produce."

"He’s skating the best I’ve seen him skate in four years, and he really wants to push this team forward into the playoffs," says IceHogs coach Ted Dent.

Morin recently became the IceHogs all-time leader in goals. He has played briefly with the Blackhawks this season. That was back in October.   With the Blackhawks is where he wants to be.

"It’s not my goal to be here (in Rockford), but I’m here right now and I think I need to have the mindset that in order to get out of here you have to play your best hockey and keep going. That’s what I’ve been trying to do every night just be the hardest working guy on the ice and try to produce."

Morin was acquired by the Blackhawks from Atlanta in the Dustin Byfuglien trade back in 2010.
