Illini Ready For Big Ten Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS-The Fighting Illini will be the first team to take the court in the Big Ten Tournament Thursday morning. The Illini will battle Indiana in the 11am game.

During the regular season the Illini and Hoosiers split their two games. Each team won on its home court.

Illini coach John Groce is encouraged by the recent play of his team. The Illini have won four of their last five games.

"We want to continue to be aggressive and attack and be loose," says Illini coach John Groce. "I want them (his players) to have fun. This is a fun time of year. To have an opportunity to be playing for something. The way that they've handled themselves, and the way they've played here lately I think speaks a lot of their DNA and who they are.

The Illini are the number 8 seed. The Hoosiers are the 9 seed.

Also Thursday Ohio State will play Purdue, Minnesota will play Penn State, and Iowa will face Northwestern.
