Auburn Comes Up Short in Super-Sectional

DEKALB-Auburn's great basketball season has ended one win short of the State Tournament. The Knights lost in the 4A NIU Super-Sectional Tuesday to Lincolnshire Stevenson 63-49.

Auburn hung with last year's State runnerup early. The Knights led 12-9 after the first quarter, and they were tied 22-22 at halftime. But The Knights were outscored 20-11 in the third quarter and 21-16 in the fourth.

Stevenson All-State guard Jalen Brunson scored the first basket of the game, and he kept on scoring. He finished with 35 points.

Auburn got 14 points from Antoine Pittman and 13 from Zayvious Hoover.

Auburn finishes with a 28-6 record.
