"We would get down in games, and that's one of the reasons why we lost a few actually," says quarterback Logan Hartman. "If we just keep our heads up, keep rolling, and hitting hard, we'll be fine.:
They Pretzels will be rolling on offense with eight returning starters.
"We're fortunate in that our offensive line, most of them returned," says head coach Aaron Wichman. "So, we hope to hit the ground running, literally, week one against Harlem."
"Our line is looking great this year. They should put up a good block for me in time to get the ball out quick," says Hartman.
Wichman has confidence in Hartman running the offense.
"He did really well for us in some of our scout team stuff, and then then this summer has had just a great summer. He's done everything we've asked, he's very coachable, and he understands our system."
There's even some brotherly love in the backfield. Steve McShane has already made a name for himself, but his younger brother Vance is expected to do some big things.
"Having Vance back there with me is pretty great," says Steve McShane. "I think we have an equal amount of plays given to us, and we can take it to the yard anytime we really wanted. "
The Pretzels have a core group of starters, but the varsity roster is smaller than average.
"We get off the bus some games, and we have half the number that's on the other sideline," says Wichman. "We just preach to these guys that when you're out there, it's eleven on eleven."
