Sox Take N.C. State Lefty

CHICAGO-The White Sox went with pitching first in the MLB Draft Thursday. They used their first round pick, the third overall, on North Carolina State lefty Carlos Rodon.

As a sophomore in 2013 Rodon led N.C. State to the College Baseball World Series. He led the nation in strikeouts with 184. He had an ERA of 2.99. His junior year 2014 his record was only 6-7, but his ERA dropped to 2.01.

Scouts say he has a hard slider, and a mid-90s fastball.
