It was another hard-fought game between Big Northern rivals, but just like the first time they played, Winnebago held off a Crusader rally, winning a close contest.
The Indians held a double digit lead for much of the second and third quarters, but the Crusaders used hot shooting and turnovers to bring the game to a one possession game.
Lutheran junior Thomas Koppleman led all scorers with 20 points, but struggled again from three-point range, where he is usually deadly. Sophomore Nate Wieting also had 16 for the Crusaders.
Jacoby Posley led the way for Winnebago with 14 points, but had to leave the game for a portion of the fourth quarter with an ankle injury. He later returned after heading to the locker room. Senior Matt Reinke fought off foul trouble to contribute eight points.
