ROCKFORD - Three men are under arrest, thanks to an alert citizen.
In custody are 20 year-olds Keon Winford, Lanair Jones-Sullivan, and Vasshawn Reeves. They were arrested Tuesday night at the McDonald's on Kishwaukee Street.
Police say around 9:30pm, a patron at the restaurant noticed one of the suspects had a gun in his back pocket and called it in. As police arrived, the suspect in possession of the gun hurried to his car. Officers searched the car and recovered three guns.
Winford and Jones-Sullivan are charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and no FOID cards. Winford faces an additional charge of possession of a firearm by a gang member. Reeves is charged with disorderly conduct and failure to appear for aggravated domestic battery, but those stem from separate incidents.
