Beloit K-9 Reaches Retirement; New Companion Installed

BELOIT -- You can't teach an old dog new tricks, but for one K-9, it's a new "leash" on life.
BELOIT -- You can't teach an old dog new tricks, but for one K-9, it's a new "leash" on life.

The Beloit Fire Department celebrated the retirement of 12-year-old K-9, Molly, and it welcomed new companion K-9, Glory.

Molly's been with the department for 10 years and as part of the department's program, it's a chance to let the dog enjoy some down time.

"The trainers and the programs through State Farm insurance, they like to take the K-9 and let them be a plain old dog for the last few years of their life," said Lt. Keith Lynn, Beloit Fire Department.

The plan is for Molly to live out the dog days of her life on Lieutenant Lynn's horse farm.
