Ariel received a Bachelor's Degree from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. While there, she worked at Item Magazine, KMVP-AM ESPN Radio, KPHO-TV and KSAZ-TV. One of Ariel's most exciting experiences was as a volunteer in the media tent of the 2004 Presidential Debate.

She currently serves on the board of directors for the March of Dimes Northern Illinois Chapter.   She is also the team leader for WTVO and Fox 39's involvement in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life each year.  She also reads to local children weekly as part of the "Rockford Reads" program.  When not reporting, Ariel enjoys working out, shopping, reading and traveling.
