Bears Make Second Cuts

The Bears made a series of waiver and contract moves in their second round of roster cuts. The team is now at 58 players.
The Chicago Bears made a series of roster moves after their last preseason game. They now have 58 players on the roster, and must get down to 53 by August 31.

The most notable cut was former starting left tackle J'Marcus Webb. Webb had started 44 games over the last three seasons covering Jay Cutler's blindside, but lost his spot earlier in camp to rookie tackle Jordan Mills.

Special teams ace Armando Allen was cut as well - it appears the Bears will play LSU rookie Michael Ford in Allen's place both as a returner and gunner on special teams. Tight end Fendi Onobun got as much reps as any other player during Bears camp and preseason games, but couldn't make the most of it, also a victim of roster cuts.

Chicago also terminated the contract of three recently signed players. Quarterbacks Jordan Palmer and Trent Edwards were released, as well as guard Edwin Williams.
