Blackhawks Still Alive

The Blackhawks beat the Kings in double overtime Wednesday.
CHICAGO-The Blackhawks are still in the Cup hunt. They avoided elimination Wednesday at the United Center by beating the Kings 5-4 in double overtime.

The Blackhawks scored two goals in the first three minutes of the game, and three goals total in the first period.  But they eventually fell behind 4-3. Ben Smith's goal tied it in the third period, and Michal Handzus tallied at 2:04 of the second overtime to win it.

The Blackhawks broke their power play drought with a goal in the first by Brent Seabrook. Meanwhile their PK unit was perfect in snuffing out three Kings power plays. Both Corey Crawford and Jonathan Quick had 40 saves.

The Blackhawks still trail in the series three games to two. Now it's back to Los Angeles for game six Friday night.
