Cartoon Campaign: Rauner Counters 'Mr. Burns' Ad with 'Quinnocchio.'

Actor portraying Pinocchio to show up at Quinn events touting his 'lies.'
WTVO/WQRF -- Just one week after being portrayed by the Quinn for Governor campaign as Mr. Burns, the fictional millionaire character from 'The Simpsons,' the Bruce Rauner for Governor campaign has its own cartoon-like response.

Quinnocchio.

He is an actor who will apparently go around to public appearances by Governor Quinn dressed a Pinocchio carrying signs to remind voters of the Governor's broken promises.

Specifically, Republican nominee Rauner is focusing on Quinn's support for making the state's temporary income tax hike permanent, a tax hike he had promised would be temporary and be used to pay down the state's backlog of bills.  Rauner's campaign also points out the Governor has pushed a jobs agenda while signing budgets which significantly cut the state funding of public education, an important component to being prepared for the job market.

The move comes after the Quinn campaign put out a web video equating Rauner with 'The Simpsons' character Mr. Burns.  It was a reference to a comment Rauner made to an interviewer that his income level was likely in the top 0.1%.  A link to that ad is included.
