Danica's Record Finish

Danica Patrick finishes seventh Saturday night at the Kansas Motor Speedway.
Kansas City, MO- Danica Patrick had the best finish of her career this weekend at the Sprint Cup Race in Kansas City. The 5-Hour Energy 400 at Kansas Motor Speedway was the first Sprint Cup Race to be run at night at this track. In Lap 172, Patrick passed both Tony Stewart and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. for third place. She finished the race in seventh place overall.
It was a brutal race. In Lap 187, Justin Algaier spun out across the track and collided with David Gilliland causing a huge wreck. Debris flew everywhere but both drivers did walk away from the wreck. Pole sitter Kevin Harvick led for 119 laps in the second half of the race but Jeff Gordon took control with eight laps left. Gordon held him off at the line for the win. This is Gordon’s first Sprint Cup victory of the season and his 89th Spring Cup Series win overall.
