Hononegah's Brown Seeks NCAA Upset

David Brown will lead Western Michigan up against Syracuse Thursday.
ROCKFORD-David Brown has battled big odds coming back from major knee surgeries. So facing third seeded Syracuse in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament seems small in comparison.

Brown and Western Michigan will battle Syracuse at 1:45 p.m. central time Thursday in Buffalo, New York. The Broncos are the 14th seed in the South Region. Syrcause is the three seed.

"We have confidence in ourselves, and we know that Syracuse is a great ball club," said Brown Wednesday during a press conference in Buffalo. "We're not going in there and just thinking that we're going to win this game easily. They are a top 25 team in the nation that is coached by an amazing coach. We've just got to go in there and stick together as a family and play our best brand of basketball that we can possibly play."

Brown averages more than 19 points per game. He led the MAC in scoring this season. He's a fifth year senior out of Hononegah.
