Welcome Home Celebration

Fans welcomed home the Rockford Lutheran basketball team Sunday after placing 4th at the 3A State Tournament.
Rockford- The Rockford Lutheran Crusaders returned home from Peoria Today after finishing fourth in the 3A State Tournament. With their fourth place trophy in hand, the Saders walked into a gym full of fans and supporters welcoming them home. The Saders lost to Chicago Orr yesterday in the consolation game at the State Tournament. However, Head Coach Tom Guse could not be more proud of his players.

"There's bonds that are just way deeper than basketball and that's what will be remembered. Yeah, we'll come back and talk about the goofy things twenty years from now that took place. But for the most part, it's just the bonds and relationships we all have together,” says Tom Guse, Crusaders Head Coach.

"It's been a goal of our team's for the whole year. And to accomplish this is just a blessing. Pretty much with all the hard work we put through, we accomplished it," says Kendall Lawson, Crusaders Senior.

"We're also one of the smallest schools in 3A and it's just a great accomplishment that we could get there with such a little school. Nobody really thought we could do that in 3A and we proved a lot of people wrong with all the support we had and everything," says Thomas Kopelman, Crusaders Senior.
