Gas Prices Inching Closing To $4 Per Gallon

ROCKFORD - As we get closer to summer, gas prices are trending upwards.

ROCKFORD - As we get closer to summer, gas prices are trending upwards.

The average retail price for gasoline in the Forest city is $3.73/g, up six cents from last week.  Still, analysts expect gas prices to drop for the summer as a whole.

"We expect prices nationally between April and September to average out to $3.52/g" says Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.  "[That] would be slightly under the same period last year."

Nationwide, drivers are paying $3.59/g.  Gas prices Monday is .19 cents higher than it was at this time last year.
