Hononegah MLK Tournament 1/12/11

Hononegah will host its annual Martin Luther King Basketball Tournament this weekend.
Rockton, Illinois-Hononegah will host its annual Martin Luther King Boys Basketball Tournament this weekend.  Games will be held Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

This years field of teams includes Normal Community which finished fourth in the State in Class 4A last year.  Normal is led by Illinois State recruit Anthony Beane.

Normal West led by 6'5 senior Austin Stewart will also compete.  Other teams in the field are Jacobs, Neuqua Valley, Jacobs, DeKalb, Auburn and Hononegah.

New this year is a NIC-10 vs. Big Twelve Challenge.  On Sunday Auburn and Hononegah will square off against the two Normal schools.

"Every team in it has State aspirations," said Hononegah coach Mike Miller to WTVO.  "There will be Division I players all over the place.  Guys you'll see on TV for years to come.  For every casual basketball fan there's no better place to be."

Saturday, January 14th
11am Normal West vs. DeKalb
12:30pm Jacobs vs. Neuqua Valley
2:00pm Normal Community vs. Auburn
3:30pm DeKalb vs. Jacobs
5:00pm Neuqua Valley vs. Normal Community
6:30pm Hononegah vs. Normal West

Sunday, January 15th
5:30pm Auburn vs. Normal West
7:00pm Hononegah vs. Normal

Monday, January 16th
11am Jacobs vs. Auburn
12:30pm DeKalb vs. Hononegah
2:00pm Normal West vs. Neuqua Valley
3:30pm Normal Community vs. DeKalb
5:00pm Neuqua Valley vs. Auburn
6:30pm Hononegah vs. Jacobs

There will also be sophomore games going on throughout the weekend in Hononegah's Dome.
