Keys to the Game 8/22/12

Scott Leber shares his keys to look for in the Bears' preseason game with the Giants.
Preseason game number three for the Bears will take place Friday night when they take on the Super Bowl Champs the Giants in New York. Here are some keys to watch for in this game.

First, how will the Bears' leaky offensive line hold up against perhaps the best pass rush in the NFL? The Giants will be without star end Jason Pierre-Paul Friday. He's bothered by back spasms, but they have several other guys who can get to the quarterback.

Second, how will the Bears' banged up defensive secondary do against one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL in Eli Manning?

Third, we'll see more of Matt Forte in this game. Again, I want to see how quick he looks and how strong his knee looks.

Fourth, and this could be a big one, with punter Adam Podlesh battlng a hip injury untested Ryan Quigly will take his place. The Bears might have to start the season without Quigly, so they need to see if he's capable of getting the job done.

Often times these third preseason games are the most important ones.
