ROCKFORD. – Local residents are heading to Springfield to urge lawmakers to pass a bill legalizing marijuana for treating epilepsy.
Current law says medical marijuana cannot be smoked or used in public, inside cars or close to schools. Which means kids would not be smoking marijuana near other children.
The senate bill passed the Public Health Committee today, and it now goes to the senate for a full vote. If it passes the House of Representatives, it’s expected to go to the Governor’s desk by the end of May.
