Many Stateliners ran through the Kishwaukee Forest Preserve Saturday for a good cause. The 11th Annual Literacy Half Marathon was held at Vasa Park. The race took runners through the scenic trails of Blackhawk Springs and Epenscheid Forest Preserves. The half marathon and 10K race help to raise funds to improve literacy in the Northern Illinois Area. Last year's race raised over $18,000. Repeat winner Jason Garvens finished with a time of one hour and twenty-one minutes.
