Lutheran Returning To Peoria

The Crusaders won the NIU 3A Super-Sectional Tuesday.
DEKALB-For the second time in three years the Lutheran Crusaders are headed back to Peoria for the State Tournament. They won the 3A NIU Super-Sectional Tuesday by defeating Peoria Notre Dame 71-60.

The Saders came out on fire hitting six three-point shots early. No one was hotter than guard Joe Kellen. He scored 25 points in the first half and 31 for the game. Thomas Kopelman added 20 points.  As a team Lutheran made 12 of 27 three-point shots.

Nate Wieting chipped in with ten points.

Lutheran is now 30-3. The Saders will take on Lincoln in the 3A State Semifinals Friday at 12:15 a.m. in Peoria.
