Rockford- The Rockford Park District opened its courses for the season starting Sunday at Eliot Golf Course in Cherry Valley. The Park District announced a multi-year initiative in December to improve overall golf operations. Their goal is to have similar structure at every course in order to improve customer service.
“So there's going to be a manager at every course, which is new. We also moved to tee times rather than just being able to come in and get out and walk on, says Jordan Zellman, LPGA Professional and site manager.
“People's lives are so busy these days and one of the biggest problems in the golf industry, one is the cost of it and the other is the time that it takes. Whereas we would have players who would show up and not be able to get out right away. Players with tee times, players know when they will be on the tee,” says Duncan Geddes, Director of Golf Operations.
“It's exciting to see all of the new changes that are taking place this year and all the new faces,” says Zellman.
An opening date has not been confirmed for any additional Rockford Park District Golf Courses.
