Claeyssens Retires

The Rockford Park District's head man when it comes to golf has retired.
ROCKFORD-One of the men who helped make Rockford one of the top golf communities in America has stepped down. Dave Claeyssens is retiring after 35 plus years working in the Rockford Park District. He has overseen the golf programs, golf courses, and local tournaments as the Director of Golf Services.

Wednesday night friends and co-workers turned out for a retirement party for Claeyssens at the Nicholas Conservatory.

Claeyssens was the first PGA Professional hired by the Rockford Park District in 1978. He developed the Greater Rockford Area Golf Hall of Fame, and he started PGA Clubs for Kids Clinics as well as Illinois' largest Youth Drive, Chip and Putt contest.
